In loose ink and wash landscapes, simplifying shapes and textures is key to capturing the essence of a scene.

By reducing complex elements into basic shapes and suggesting textures with minimal detail, we can convey the character of the landscape while maintaining a sense of spontaneity and energy.

In this workshop we'll explore ink techniques that help us to do just this, as well as considering the idea of an artist's 'shorthand' and developing our sketching style.
