More About the Courses – FAQ

What order should I do the courses in?

There’s no absolute order, but when designing them, I had a progression in mind:

1) Become an Artist in 7 days (A free course)

2) Ink and Watercolour Sketching for Beginners

3) The Complete Sketch Loose Method

4) Loose Landscapes

5) How to (Loosely) Sketch People

The most beginner-friendly courses are Ink and Watercolour Sketching for Beginners and Loose Landscapes. The Complete Sketch Loose Method is ideal for confident beginners ready to take the next step and challenge themselves. Every course includes personalised feedback to support each artist’s individual journey.

Here is a video showing how the courses work:

What do you mean by interactive?

These courses are interactive because I personally answer all questions and queries and provide feedback on anything you post in the course (as long as it’s related to the course material). This is something that gets an enormously positive response from sketchers taking part in the course, so it's 100% here to stay.

Is it pre-recorded?

Yes! The courses are pre-recorded. You also receive a comprehensive handout, and you have lifetime access to go through them at your own pace.

However, you also have feedback from me on everything that you post.

Why might the course say closed?

I keep courses limited to small groups so I can give enough time and attention to everyone enrolled.

If a course is closed, feel free to contact me with any questions—and if you’d like to be notified when it reopens, you can join my mailing list.

Is this your normal style of teaching?

Absolutely! If you’ve watched my YouTube or Skillshare lessons, you’ll find the same artist, narration, and approach.

The difference is that these courses go deeper, with lessons that connect, I get to know you, your style and your goals through the interactive feedback. Plus you have a detailed course booklet to guide you. This makes for a much more enjoyable and valuable learning experience.

How much are the courses in USD/Euros/another currency?

All my course prices are in GBP (£), as I’m a small UK-based business (just me!). Prices vary depending on the course, and if you're purchasing from abroad, the final cost in your currency will depend on the exchange rate at the time of purchase—just like using your card abroad. I suggest checking either google or with your bank to be sure of the current rate.

How long do I have access, and can I repeat the lessons?

You have forever. Once you’ve joined a course, you can repeat it as often as you like, anytime you like.

I’m a beginner—can I take part?

Yes! Some courses are designed specifically for beginners, and others will help you improve no matter your level.

The focus is on building skills, creating art, and exploring your style. Plus, you can ask unlimited questions in the course comments for personalised feedback.

When will the in-person workshops be open?

This depends on many factors, but the best way to stay updated is to check the website weekly.

Once we’ve confirmed everything, we’ll update the course listings with new workshop dates. If you’d like to pre-book a place (with the understanding that details may change before confirmation), you can email me to check if that’s possible.

I have another question!

If your question isn’t answered here, feel free to email me at toby.h.email@gmail.com.

Looking forward to seeing you in the courses!Title
