I'm an ink and watercolour sketcher who specialises in capturing quick and expressive art, using characteristic continuous lines and loose watercolours.
I enjoy a range of subjects, both urban and rural landscapes, as well as still life, doodle-art and the occasional portrait too.
My journey through art hasn't always been easy. I used to stress an awful lot and pour my heart and soul into creating paintings for hours and hours, but eventually I realised I wasn't enjoying this approach.
And that is when I started to 'SketchLoose' and started to find a new joy and happiness in my art!
Now I put my energy into helping other people discover this fundamental shift in sketching mentality - to free up their sketching, loosen up their art, and use art not just to create but also to relax and enjoy life.

Sketching is a quick, expressive and approachable way to create art.
It incorporates a range of techniques such as draughtsmanship, drawing and painting, but also allows for mixed media and modern techniques and tools like alcohol ink markers.
The key to sketching is to identify the important features of a scene, and simplify them for yourself, as the artist, and for the viewer.
Sketching is therefore a wonderful place to start you artistic journey and has limitless possibilities for lifelong development as an artist as we incorporate new techniques and fine tune our creative decision making to make the best of any scene.
