Today we cover the ideas of proportions, using anchor measurements and relative proportions to fluidly sketch a scene without the rigid constraints of measuring every little detail.

The aims of this lesson aren't to work out how to sketch a scene perfectly - instead I hope that you understand that proportions are important. But NOT, by far, the most important thing in creating great art.

We will...

  1. Understand what 'proportions' means

  2. Examine the use-case for proportions in different subjects

  3. Discuss what an anchor measurement is

  4. Create a 'good enough' scene using relative proportions
